Number of exchanges - Exchange of scientists and technological staff ( CBB )

This indicator is proposed as an indicator for Sustainable Development Target 17.6 Enhance North-South, South-South and triangular regional and international cooperation on and access to science, technology and innovation and enhance knowledge sharing on mutually agreed terms, including through improved coordination among existing mechanisms, in particular at the United Nations level, and through a global technology facilitation mechanism.

Data & Organisations

  • ITU collects and reports on data for this indicator annually. By 2014, data were available for about 80 economies, from developed and developing regions, and covering all key global regions. Data on the proportion of fixed-broadband subscription (not broken down by speed) exist for almost all economies in the world and ITU publishes data on this indicator yearly.
  • Data are collected by national regulatory authorities or Information and Communication Technology Ministries, who collect the data from Internet service providers. By 2014, data were available for about 80 economies, from developed and developing regions, and covering all key global regions. Data on the proportion of fixed-broadband subscription (not broken down by speed) exist for almost all economies in the world and ITU publishes data on this indicator yearly.
