Model
A (conceptual) model is a representation of a system or a domain, or of a viewpoint on a system or a domain.
Often a model will be part of an Enterprise Architecture, and its model elements will be included in a Architecture repository. In that case the model is part of an Architecture description.
In an Enterprise Architecture model, each model element will typically occur in two manners:
- as a unique element in the Architecture repository
- as a part of zero or more views (models) in which that element is included; each view is typically determined by a Layer and an Aspect, as included in the Enterprise architecture framework.
Check the Conceptual model (Wikipedia) for types and scopes of models and modelling techniques.
